Terms of Service

Last updated: May 31, 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you") and the operator of SigmaThesis ("we", "us", "SigmaThesis"), governing your use of the website at sigmathesis.com and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

SigmaThesis is a software platform that aggregates and analyzes publicly available financial data, presents quantitative scoring, and provides AI-assisted investment thesis generation. The Service includes free features and paid Pro features (subscription-based, with AI usage limits measured in credits).

3. Not financial advice

SigmaThesis is an information and education tool. It does not provide financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Every output — including Sigma Scores, AI-generated theses, valuation models, alerts, and dashboard summaries — is information and interpretation, not a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any security.

You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Always do your own research and consult licensed professionals for advice tailored to your circumstances. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information presented.

4. Account registration

To access most features, you must create an account using a valid email or a supported single sign-on provider (currently Google). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or models from the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Service
  • Use automated tools or scripts to access the Service except through documented APIs (if any)
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Service outputs without written permission
  • Attempt to disrupt the Service through overload, exploits, or unauthorized access
  • Share account credentials with third parties
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

6. Subscription and billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor Paddle ("Paddle"), acting as Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (no pro-rated refund for partial months, except as required by law or covered by our Refund Policy).

Pricing is shown in USD on the pricing page and may be displayed in your local currency at checkout. Applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax) are calculated and collected by Paddle. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.

7. AI credits

Pro subscriptions include a monthly allotment of AI credits (currently 100 per billing period). Each AI-powered feature call (thesis generation, chart analysis, guidance extraction, portfolio review, daily summary) consumes one credit. Credits reset on a 30-day rolling cycle aligned with your billing period and do not accumulate across periods.

Extra credit packs (+50 credits for $5) may be purchased separately; these add to your current period's balance and expire at the next reset.

8. Intellectual property

Your data is yours. Portfolio holdings, watchlist, and saved theses you create remain your property. We do not claim ownership of your inputs.

Our platform is ours. The Service interface, design, source code, scoring methodologies, AI prompt engineering, data presentation, and brand elements are the intellectual property of SigmaThesis. Commercial copying, redistribution, or reverse engineering is prohibited.

9. Data and privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Third-party services and data

The Service incorporates data and tools from third parties including Anthropic (Claude AI), Finnhub, Yahoo Finance, Supabase, Vercel, Paddle, and Google. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data feeds, the availability of third-party services, or any errors introduced through them. Use of those third-party services may be governed by their own terms.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information presented is accurate, complete, or current.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall SigmaThesis be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, trading losses, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g., consumer rights in the EU).

13. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or using account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with reasonable notice unless the violation is serious enough to warrant immediate action. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature survive (intellectual property, liability, governing law) continue.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. EU consumers retain the protections of mandatory consumer law in their country of residence. Disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Hungary, subject to applicable consumer-jurisdiction rules.
